Our Time Line
1954
Paolo Verdi came to United States from a town near Mantua
which is near Manico River in Italy.
He opened a store in Brooklyn, New York selling suits and accessories
since it was what his dad did for living back in Italy. He was
very successful at what he did since he made custom suit and
had a vision of changing how men shop for dress suits.
1962
Paolo Verdi married to an American lady and started learning
American traditions and was introduced to new ways of marketing
and advertisement in local news papers.
1970s
Paolo’s business expands and demands rise and Paolo has to hire
and move to a larger location. While he still makes custom made
suits, now he has to hire other tailors to meet his customer’s
demands.
1975
Paolo and two of his now business partners decided that it would
be better if they had some kind of way to sell already made
suits which would have not only a lower price, but get to the
customer faster. They visited Italy and saw that there are now
some factories there that actually make suits. They made plans
to import suits which had the same fabric quality yet was not
custom made.
1984
Paolo Verdi was now well established in men’s suit business
and was importing Italian made suits to his store in Brooklyn.
He started thinking about having a warehouse in which he could
store his inventory and even sell to other suit stores. This
was a great business idea and Paolo became a new Italian suit
supplier to other men’s suit stores.
1993
I, as the the owner started helping my Father, Mr. Verdi
who was now retiring and spent more time at his store. We had
now more than 60 employees and I as a new person in charge,
thought of expanding to west coast.
1995
I came to Los Angeles and saw new opportunities in west coast
and started with a small warehouse in downtown Los Angeles.
1995- Now
Now we have expanded our business, our main warehouse is in
New York, Brooklyn still. We have a warehouse in City of Industry
and one small one in Missouri.
